The Inframammary Incision
This incision type, made in the crease of the breast where the breast meets the rib cage, is an excellent choice for Corpus Christi women for several reasons. First, since the breast augmentation incision is made on the breast, it makes it easier for Dr. Rose to insert and position your breast implants. Second, this incision typically doesn’t interfere with milk ducts, making it an ideal incision type of breast augmentation patients who think they may choose to breastfeed in the future. Finally, the inframammary incision is easily hidden by the breast itself, and by a bra and bikini line, so that nobody will see your scars.
The Periareolar Incision
The periareolar breast augmentation incision is another on-the-breast incision type that helps ensure precision when placing and positioning breast implants. This incision type is made along the bottom of the areola, and the natural coloring change between the nipple and your breast typically disguises the scarring. Depending on the size of the breast or implant, the periareolar incision is a popular approach. Dr. Rose also uses a Keller Funnel for the placement of all his implants. The Transumbilical Approach (TUMBA) and Under Arm Incision
For breast augmentation patients who don’t want scarring on their breasts, there is always the option of getting saline implants and a TUBA or underarm incision. With the TUBA incision, a tiny incision is made in the belly button, then the deflated saline implant is pushed up to the breast site via a channel. The breast implant is then filled with a saline solution.
